I was walking around this cavernous old church that was VERY dark. When I came into this chamber, I was momentarily blinded by the sudden sunlight... I didn't even notice the guy with the flute at first.. until I heard his playing echoeing through the chambers. It was very beautiful and peaceful.

Thanks! Yeah I thought I'd be gone by now too. But, when you freelance you kinda gotta stick around while you have work. ;-) Although, I'm about to wind up a couple print projects, and if a video editing gig I've been spec'ing on falls through.... I'll be hoppin' a bus for Mexico, or somewhere. :-) I've been to Mexico so many times, that I'd like to check out maybe Brazil, or Madagascar... but I'd like to get a bit of writing done, and if I go someone completely new I won't bother with writing. I get some kind of raw inspiration in Mexico anyway.

I love the way the pool of light on the floor echoes the shape of it's source, and also the way the light in the window is personified in my mind.... As though the light is making a sweeping hand gesture and saying "Presenting that mystical player of the flute, (insert the flute players name here)!"
This picture is all about light, the way the instrument is lit, and his hands and arms, the spot light he is standing in, the top of his head where the inspiration comes to play sweet notes. I can almost hear the music hanging in the air.
