I grew bored walking around Barcelona taking snaps here, drinking an absinthe there, some tapas, then more touristy snaps. Oh, this isn't to say that Barcelona is boring. Far from it. Probably one of the most inspirational cities I've been in. But, it's just I kept thinking of how times most of the beautiful sites had been photographed by millions of photographers.
So, I decided to focus my lens on the everyday mundane elements of Barcelona. Just for an hour or so... I wasn't going to shoot anything the rest of the tourists were shooting. I was going to focus on the real subliminal texture of the place.
This and the other 2 Barcelona images were taken of some rusted plates on the sidewalk near the shipyard of Barcelona, Spain.
nice. i think i like this one the best. maybe because it's the most ballanced of the two? which is odd, because i usually prefer asymmetry. but i think it's the bright colors in this one and the fact that the lines are So dramatic and engaging... and the contrast of the spots on one side and the lines on the other.
i really like all the crisscrossing lines in #1 as well, which make it very dynamic. although maybe i might've given it a square crop to the right? to enhance the focus on all the lines, maybe.
hehe. i just sat down to my computer to realize that i wrote this two days ago and forgot to hit 'submit'... aaanyways...
nice shot!
